  1. Issac Asimov: Brilliant Science Fiction writer, promoter of science and the
only non Texan who can get away with a string tie.

  2. How old is this. Great material if dated but the same debates are still
being had today although progress is being made.,

  3. This guy is so cool. I had never heard of him, but I just read this book
called 3 Futures by Peter T. McQueeny, and he lists Asimov as a huge
influence on his Amazon profile. I really want to read the Foundation
    books now!

  4. Si alguien puede traducir éstos videos al castellano, por favor hágalo.
Muchos hispanohablantes (incluyéndome) van a estar agradecidos.

  5. Here we are 28 years later and the same arguments are being repeated. We
haven’t learned anything. No wonder robots decided humans needed guidance.

  6. Came across this, what a blast (like Asimov’s jacket).
Interesting journey into the way-back machine (plus ’80’s hair)
    …plus ça change…

  7. I had a much longer comment composed and it was in danger of becoming a
full blown essay—something that I’m too lazy to write at the moment—so I’ll
just say this: I consider myself to be a humanist which encompasses atheism
and skepticism, but it also has ethical and moral components. I’ll let
Isaac Asimov explain what Humanism is, as he can do it much better than I
    can.

  8. Another good description of Humanism is contained within the Declaration of
Independence: WE hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are
created equal, that they are endowed by THEIR Creator with certain
unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of
    Happiness

  9. Usual creationist response – ‘Well, atheism is a religion..’ No it’s not.
It’s about the pursuit of knowing what is true, and what is false.

  10. Dr. Wolverine err Dr. Asimov! We need more of him to put the stake in the
Religious Right and their death throes.

  11. Hey, Isaac, your suit was out of fashion long before this film was made.
That, however, is to your credit you crazy guy. I hereby toast you, your
    memory and your teachings.

  12. This was made the year I was born. It is absolutely crazy to see how the
situation has not changed one bit in all these years.

  13. that’s because you’re not in the loop man! where have you been? under a

  14. You are awfully stupid if you think nothing has changed. Open your eyes and
stop being so negative and bitter about the world. It’s not that bad, and
it’s getting better all the time.

  15. ” I think computer viruses should count as life. I think it says something
about human nature that the only form of life we have created so far is
purely destructive. We’ve created life in our own image.” – Stephen
    Hawking.

  17. Here’s a classic video explaining what humanism is by one of its most
    significant and influential members.
